Non-NATIVE PLANTS

The lists below are intended only as a starter. Through observation and experimentation in your own garden, you’ll find what best attracts bees. Don’t limit yourself. Your focus should be to choose flower colors that attract bees: blue, purple, white & yellow. Bees only see colors in the ultra-violet range. Through my own observation, I have noticed various bees attracted to my herbs when they are flowering.

Plants that are native to one’s area, are usually the most preferred and the most easily grown. I have derived most of my list from a Xerces Society leaflet. According to research, native plants have four times the attraction power to native bees than other types.
