The female Mason bee emerges a few days after the male. When temperatures are 60F for a couple of days she will come out. One can usually expect to see her about the 1st ofApril. She is larger than the male and is equipped with larger mandibles. She has shorter antennae and is blue black with an irridescent green hue.
