Field notes: Parasitic Wasps
This Monodontomerus Wasp is apparently aware of the Mason bee larvae in this straw. Once this wasp gets her ovipositor in through the mason bee cocoon, her larvae will eat the mason bee larvae and winter over until about June. Another parasitic wasp is shown at the end of this movie clip. I’ve yet to identify it.
